Mercedes-Benz widened its Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 family with an electric novelty, and this time, it is a convertible electric car. The new model was introduced as Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. It is 5,7 m long elegant electric car.
However, there are no notable differences from the coupe concept of the last year - a hard top was replaced with a fabric convertible hood, a red paintwork changed to "nautical blue metallic", wheels received a new design - and, in general, that's all. The Cabriolet preserved the same " whalebone " front style and double-wing hood.
New electric car is 5.7m long, 2.1m wide, and only 1.3m tall. Wheel size has increased compared to the previous model, reaching 24 inches.
Among other things, wing doors are replaced now by classic hinged ones. And in the interior, Mercedes-Benz kept its style, having provided a convertible novelty with a luxury interior of white leather and gold rose. Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet features dashboard-wide display in addition to two projectors for the front glass enabling a panoramic view. The cabin itself is designed for a driver and one passenger. A small baggage pad is located behind the seats.
In the same way as the year before, its double-wing hood covers the trunk holding a custom fitted suitcase, two umbrellas, silverware, plates, and other dinnerware.
Technical characteristics of Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet impress with 750 horsepower from electric motors, reaching 100 km/h in 4 seconds. Battery capacity is 80 kw/h, and this, by the creator's idea, is sufficient for 500 km drive. Maximum speed is limited by the car's electronics - the program will not allow speed to go faster than 250 km/h. Signature fast charger allows the battery to be recharged for 100 km driving distance in a record short time - only 5 minutes.
Manufacturers note that the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet is a concept car that was developed for advertising purposes, which means that the company will not start the mass production in the nearest future.
