Russian Direct Investment Fund in collaboration with Italian company Enel are working on a project of car sharing service in Moscow.
Companies are going to build 50 electric vehicle charging stations and expand the car fleet to 400 cars. There are six car sharing services in Moscow without fleet at the moment.
Representatives of companies claim that electric cars soon will displace ordinary cars, and car sharing service will be one of the most important in the infrastructure of the city of future.
Some experts, however, believe that there should be 500 electric cars at least, and point out that fifty charging stations throughout Moscow will not be enough.
More than 2 million trips using car sharing service were made in 2017.
A new service will be available in 2018.
