Connected technology, virtual and augmented reality are the key trends in 2016.
Leading developers, businessmen, technology evangelists gathered together in Courtyard Moscow City Center on March 10, 2016 in order to discuss the most relevant aspects of virtual and augmented reality business.
The organizer of such a remarkable event was the leader of exhibition business - Smile-Expo.
More than 400 lucky people learned about new AR/VR technologies and their application in various sectors of business, industry and entertainment.
Within the event there were 21 reports and two panel discussions about trends and current events in the industry of augmented and virtual reality.
Panel discussions: what was interesting?
All of the most topical issues concerning the future of the industry were discussed within the activity. Participants talked about the low level of companies’ awareness and younger generation as key consumers, determined deterrents to the industry development and ways for overcoming the problem and didn’t ignore the topic of AR/VR developments introduction in schools.
The first discussion was devoted to the topic “Deterrent to AR/VR growth. The conditions for progress”. Vasiliy Ryzhonkov from the Skolkovo Center said that they are interested in long-term projects, to which the fund is ready to provide necessary support.
Discussion of investing in start-ups and already existing companies resonated with the participants.
Among the speakers there were: Aleksandr Lavrov (Vizzera), Oleg Radchenko (Maas Agency), Aleksey Svirskiy (Fibrum) and others.
Prospects of VR gaming industry were discussed in the second panel discussion, moderated by Viacheslav Utochkin, the Director of National Research University – Higher School of Economics educational programs.
There were vibrant debates involving Ilia Flaks (Fibrum), Sergey Orlovskiy (Nival) and Kirill Yudintsev (Gaijin) as well.
Bustling exposition pleased everyone with TeslaSuit presentation. This is the first VR suit designed by TeslaStudios.
Of special interest was also the presentation of Timvi VR platform, which was presented to the public for the first time as well.
Guests were able to experience total immersion in art thanks to unusual methods used by GreatGonzo studio.
Visitors enjoyed AR hockey game with Xinect SDK platform from Arloopa.
Technological innovations included Fibrum, Homido, BIPOLAR and GearVR headsets.
Unique approaches, personal experience and unusual cases were presented at the lectures within AR Conference.
Speakers told about the use of AR/VR solutions that previously seemed to be a fantasy. As the example they used their own experience in marketing, business and entertainment.
Great attention was paid to the report of Daria Zolotuhina about VR headset as taxitainmen platform. Ben Vaughan’s report on open source software aroused great interest as well.
The presentation of Georgy Molodtsov about the use of video with 360-degree technology for solving social problems made a great impression on the audience.
What else was interesting?
The guests did not leave the event empty-handed! People developed their skills while learning cardboards assembling within the workshop, took part in AR quest and received gifts from VRSTORE and Fibrum (VR-headset and nippers).
Community noted en masse the project as not only interesting one, but also as a significant business event.
